SUMMARY: Scherr is a guy that has a lot of upside and is on the verge of being in the starting rotation for us but currently a backend guy. He dealt with some arm issues in the fall but fully recovered now. We switched him to a PO this year because his ceiling is much higher on the mound and because of that switch he has been trending upward. Throws mid 80’s topping 87 but easily low 90s on a pulldown. Plus CB that's very sharp and a CH that is still in the learning process. Very hard worker but occasionally over thinks/analyzes things. Overall, he is still unproven on the mound but I firmly believe by mid spring he will be our #3 starter. Very high potential here just needs to continue to focus on pitching.

SUMMARY:  Black is our every day CF. Character wise he is solid and a team captain. Works harder than anyone, never takes reps off, and always strives to be better. He is the absolute definition of lead by example. While Black may not be the most vocal kid whenever he does talk people listen because of the way he goes about his business. Baseball wise he is our best outfielder and will be one of the better ones in the NWAC. Tracks balls well, top end speed, and understands the game well. His biggest negative is a lack of arm strength but that is continuing to grow. On the offensive side he Won’t hit with a ton of power but a great approach with lots of contact. Will be our leadoff hitter and will continue to sipe some bags. Overall, this is the guy that might get passed over based on size and arm strength but is the guy I most want to find a good next fit for… most deserving on the team.

SUMMARY:  Great kid with a solid set of skills. Loves the game and being around the sport… he even runs our team's social media. In the OF he is very smooth and gets above average reads. He has slightly above average speed with a solid arm. His swing stays through the zone well and has the best overall approach on the team. Because of the approach he has been hitting ⅔ for us this year. Has enough power to put some out but much more of a line drive gap to gap hitter. This is an easy plug and play guy that will consistently get the job done but may not wow you with any certain tool… he just does everything very solid. Last year he got limited by an arm injury that is now fully cleared. He has been a must start every game type guys for us. Only because of need will he also pitch for us but I could see him filling in a LHP role at the next level just to fill that spot. Throws strikes with 2 good offspeed pitches but only throwing low 80s.

SUMMARY:  Natural skill wise there is a lot to work with. Very solid swing that stays through the zone and has the potential to drive one out to all fields… mainly a line drive type guy. Worst part is his mediocre reads in the OF and lower arm strength. Truly is just a natural ballplayer though and hits ¾ for us.. Character wise I had some reservations about the ability to stay mentally locked in but after some conversations he has completely flipped and is solid mentally. He is a solid player, executes things very well, and right now is looking to be a top NWAC hitter (currently hitting near .400). His best ally is right center and because of that is near the top of the NWAC in triples.

SUMMARY:  DeJesus is a guy that has really grown on me over the past few months. He is not the most vocal player but when he talks he means it. Genuinely wants to get better every day and looks for ways to continue to work. Defensively he is a top level  infielder and is our everyday SS as he was last year as a freshman. A fairly strong arm (89mph pulldown) but his ability to get rid of it quickly makes it seem stronger. Offensively, he has a solid approach at the plate and will likely hit in the 5 spot. High contact type guy with the ability to run some out. Hitting for the SS position he is average but defense is what truly stands out. Not a ton of offers currently but this guys needs to be somewhere next year.

SUMMARY: Morgan is an extremely vocal leader and has heard the right to be heard. Works extremely hard, won’t get out of the gym, hits after practice daily and loves the grind. Just based on his size and strength he is our most projectable guy with a ton of mass and very fast twitch. However, he comes with some struggles mentally and overthinks things too often. He was out of baseball for a couple years before coming back this year so there is still some progress to be made. Fantastic kid and will find a home at the next level… as he continues to get back into the game he should be an absolute dude. Defensively he has great motions and a strong arm, just needs to continue to work to be more consistent. Will start at 3B for us and occasionally rotate into SS. Again, Morgan will be a dude at some point but just needs to continue to develop on the consistency side.
